Murrumbidgee - Ginninderra Gorges National Park: Information Note 29

300 metre wide river and creek corridors

As you will be aware Riverview is putting in a development proposal for West Belconnen. There is some overlap with our own proposal for a national park and Riverview has some very valuable suggestions for managing the Ginninderra Falls and surrounding area. Inevitably for Riverview's development bid there will be rezoning of some ACT and NSW land and we recommend that, as part of any rezoning, there should be at least a 300 metre wide river and creek corridor.

Comments on this topic are most welcome. (Indeed everyone is welcome to add their contribution on any topic on our website.)

30 years of Namadgi National Park and 100 years of the Cotter catchment

Congratulations to everyone, including our very own Patron, Dr Bryan Pratt, who had a key role in the creation of the Namadgi National Park. See TAMS media release for details.

There will be a display at the Visitors Centre - Naas Road, Tharwa - which should be there for two months. We also have a small table here with lots of good information about our Proposal for the Murrumbidgee - Ginninderra Gorges National Park (thanks to the staff at Namadgi.)

Current and former staff and guests are invited to mark the anniversary on Saturday 4 October 2014. Details may be seen here.
