Murrumbidgee - Ginninderra Gorges National Park: Information Note 12

Committee members of the Ginninderra Falls Association had a successful meeting recently with landowners with an interest in the GFA's proposal for a new national park centred on Ginninderra Falls.  There was a stimulating exchange of views and discussion on issues put forward. The parties agreed that they should meet again in about six months' time for another information-sharing meeting. One outcome was that the GFA has written to the ACT Chief Minister, Katy Gallagher, asking if she would consider writing to the NSW Premier, Mr Barry O'Farrell, suggesting the establishment of a working party to look at all the ramifications of the national park proposal.

The GFA has taken out public liability insurance, but the high cost has seriously depleted funds. Donations to the GFA would be very acceptable at this time!

Next year the GFA will hold its first public meeting for 2013 on Tuesday, 26 February, from 7.30 pm - 9 pm, venue to be advised later.  The guest speaker, topic to be advised, will be Christine Goonrey, president of the National Parks Australia Council. All are welcome.

GFA would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Graeme Barrow
On behalf of the GFA committee
