Murrumbidgee-Ginninderra Gorges National Park (Information Note 2)

The Murrumbidgee-Ginninderra Gorges National Park Community Group has decided to rename itself the Ginninderra Falls Association to simplify what many considered to be a cumbersome although descriptive name. However, this change does not diminish in any way the new Association's push for a new national park incorporating the falls and gorge on Ginninderra Creek and a section of the Murrumbidgee River.

The Association intends to holds its inaugural public meeting at the Belconnen Library Meeting Room on Tuesday, 14 February 2012, 7.30pm - 9 pm. Office bearers will be elected and those attending will be brought up to date with progress on the national park proposal. A guest speaker, Chris Davey, president of the Canberra Ornithologists Group, will speak for about twenty minutes on birds of the Ginninderra Gorge and Murrumbidgee River Corridor.  There will be time for questions.

An Association member Dr Brian Pratt will give a talk on Friday, 9 March 2012 at the CSIRO Discovery Centre, 6 pm-7pm, entitled "Discovering the Ginninderra Falls area" and then open an art show of Dr Dirk Bouma's paintings of the area.
