I refer to your correspondence on 6 January 2014 where you request support from NSW National Parks and Wildlife (NPWS) Service to establish a Cross Border Working Group to facilitate the creation of the Murrumbidgee - Ginninderra Gorges National Park.

I am advised that there is an existing cross border forum - the West Belconnen Cross Border Committee. This is considered the appropriate forum to discuss and progress the interests of the GFA rather than establishing a new forum.

This Committee has representation from the ACT Government's Environment and Sustainable Development Directorate, Chief Minister and Treasury Directorate, the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure, Yass Valley Council and Riverview representatives.

NPWS considers that the level of existing representation on this committee is sufficient enough such that NPWS would not need to join at this stage.
