Murrumbidgee - Ginninderra Gorges National Park: Information Note 62

Our first Patron, Dr Bryan Pratt, died last Friday.

Dr Pratt played a prominent role in the working party set up by the Belconnen Community Council to look into cross-border issues relating to West Belconnen. The group, which usually met at Dr Pratt's tackle shop, recommended that this area become a national park. This was the initial Proposal for a Murrumbidgee - Ginninderra Gorges National Park.

The Ginninderra Falls Association was inaugurated to promote this idea and Dr Pratt continued to work with us, initially on the committee, then as Patron, but always available for advice. His environmental knowledge and high-level administrative experience will be missed.

There is a brief summary about Dr Pratt on our website and this now includes the Canberra Times article written by Chris Dutton.
